1935 16" wheels to modern disk brakes
Have a set of stock 16" x 4.5 wires with 5 x 5 1/2 bolt spacing. Can these be adapted to 2010 Ford ranger disk hubs with a 3.75 back space (15 x7 wheels) ? I found spacing adapters for the bolt patterns but not sure what size would fit and that would allow clearance for the disk brake calipers, etc ?

This virtually never works-out well because the thickness of the necessary adapter screws-up the SCRUB RADIUS so badly. |

Check with Pete&Jake's. They have a disc brake called The Power Stopper that may work without a thick spacer. They may only require the wire wheel support rings from Boling Brothers. I'm just guessing as I have used these brakes before but with steel wheels.

I’m taking the disc off on a 32 I just trade for and going back to drum. I have 5-4.5 mustang disc and I tried the adt with 35 wires and it worked but looked goofy .

If you have in fact the orig Ford spoke wheel,You will need a 1" thick spacer/adapter that Speedway sells to mount them on a flat surface. Those have the support lip for the hub machined on them also. The bolting flange is inset on a Ford spoke wheel (see pic). The orig unmodified Ford 16" wheel is 4" .If yours are 4.5" they must be Kelseys which are very hard to find.

I am not familiar with the 2010 Ranger disc brakes. You might try 1 adapter and see if it works.Return it if not.
