Door Key
I did not get a door key with the purchase of my Pickup. The handle has a nomber on it and I am wondering if there is a way I can get a key for it based on that number.
Thanks Bob |

Re: Door Key
I took a fewdoor locks to the key shop (not the key cutter at WalMart) and they set me up with keys for each. Some, the numbers worked, others they used their "magic," but they were able to key all of them.

Re: Door Key
Is the number on the shaft or on the face of the Cylinder?

Re: Door Key
I can cut a key from code as long as the code is a valid one correct for your year and model Ford. What is the code stamped on the lock?

Re: Door Key
Hi Flathead
That would be great ! The code on the key is LL155,, 1930 Model A Pickup. Is that enough information? Thanks Bob |

Re: Door Key
Hey you guys are amazing ...getting this guy fitted with a working key.
To each his own, but it puzzles me that one could feel any sense of security with a filing cabinet cylinder that displays the code in open view. Especially on something as sought after, and easy to part out, as a Model A. ...it's almost like writing your combination on the safe door. I would urge this guy to purchase a good used original stainless door handle (they're still plentifull)....and have it rekeyed properly. |

Re: Door Key
I do not see the problem. My Dad always told me that a lock was to keep honost people honest. If someone is bent on stealing the A that door lock won't stop them.
I am happy with the help I received on the forum and have ordered the key. Thanks for your concern! |
