Default Need education on Old Sparkplugs

I bought some old A parts and motors and need an education on the champion plugs:

I bought repo's for my "B" how can you tell the old plugs from repo?

What parts are salvageable? several pugs are broken, are the bottoms worth saving?

How do you restore them?

Ok... So if I read this right, rounded threes mean original. Wide wrench surface is early?

Anyone know if rust dissolve hurts the porcelain? Should I take them apart first?

I used molasses and it doesn't hurt the numbers or porcelain.

Not 100% true. In the '70's for a MAFCA meet, Champion made plugs for the meet with the rounded 3 but "modern" metal base.

Yes, they did.. But they have smaller #s & letters, plus the brass top hat is of two pieces, as is todays made 3xs.. The original ones are solid on top..

The C-4 plugs were made for Model B but can be used in the "A" as well. 0-Com and 1-Com plugs were probably intended for some industrial applications and are too cold for Model A or B use. The equivalent to the C-4 would be the 2-Com plug.
