Michigan bound...
Flying out early thurs. and back on sunday. Any fordbarners with some other tidbits for some good points of interest needed.
In Dearborn will be checking out the automotive hall of fame, The Henry Ford/greenfield village and Rouge factory tour. Other priority is the Gilmore car museum and the new Model A museum, rounding out with the model T heritage complex. Probably work up a thirst and need to take a few brewery tours |

You cannot do way that you will be able to do that on basically a weekend tour. To do them justice, you will need a day at each place, and you still won't be able to do it. I have been through all of them and it took a full day at each.

I agree with Lawson. There is just too much to see for the time you have available. Incidentally, the Gilmore complex is a long way from Dearborn (probably about 150 miles) and is off the beaten path but is well worth the effort.

2.5 hours from Dearborn. It's near battle creek. Then a good 45 minutes off I 94 to Hickory Corners. Just got back. It's beautiful there now with Fall colors.

Re: Michigan bound...
Thanks Mike, our flight gets in 9:30am and had planned to hit the Gilmore/ModelA museum first thing. Nice to know the foliage is peaking, the wife will like that.

When my son and I made that trip several years ago, he went on-line and found the best barbeque restaurant in Detroit that we have ever eaten at. Of course I can't remember the name now but it started with an S. Maybe someone else will know the full name. We still talk about getting back there for another BBQ dinner. The place did not look like much on the outside, but things were really good on the inside.
