Wink Indented firewall

I attended a show today in Brooklyn, CT, and there was a 31 slant window without an indented f/wall, was this correct? There was a beautiful 29 town sedan there also . Just wondering.

The indented firewall was introduced in April 1931. The transition was complete by the end of May, Assembly plants would use existing stock before making the switch so there is no exact date.

My '31 pickup has the indented firewall, the steering drop and long bed but still has the fabric top.

To hasten the move to indented fire walls, some fire walls were restamped as indented.

Commercial vehicles were always the last to have the newer parts installed. There are '31 trucks made with '30 radiator shells etc. It must be real tough to attempt a restore of a pickup if you are not already starting with a complete vehicle.

I have a 1931 Briggs body slant windshield Town Sedan. Briggs body tag number is 141-7056. Serial number of car is 4662XXX. Serial number falls within May 1931 production. This Town Sedan has the flat firewall with fuel shut-off mounted inside on the gas tank. Since this car was sold new in NW, Ohio it's a good bet the car was built at the Rouge assembly plant.

I know of two other Briggs slant windshield Town Sedans, in this area, that have the flat firewall with fuel shut-off inside the vehicle.

Where exactly in Brooklyn was it?
My mother lives just down the road in Hampton.
