#3 is your best shot............as far as I am concerned. Available from Daytona Parts

386 427 7108........Daytona Parts power valve feature the 3 small bleed orifices like
the original Chandler Grove/Holley/Ford design vs the modern rectangular bleed ports.
I ALWAYS machine any power valve to create a flat gasket face which is absolutely
square with the threads. This is my only my opinion. I respect any and all other opinions on this question.

#1 may be a spark valve. If it's spring loaded in the opposite direction of a power valve, then it's a spark valve for carbs from the Loadomatic era ('49 to '56).

Macs wants $800 for a pair of NOS power valves ?? Did I understand that correctly?? NOS parts are nice, but I wouldn't even use an NOS power valve because of not being compatible with the ethanol in the fuel these days. I would go with some from Charlie ny or Daytona in Florida.

I'd second the fact to stay clear of NOS power valves. Hook up with Charlie... I recently bought three PV's from him.

I'm assuming you mean $800 for a pair of NEW carburetors (which are made by Dennis Carpenters)

Yes I am referring to a pair of new carbs. Are the Carpenter carbs worth the money?

The carpenter carbs are great.. We sell them at my work, and i have run one on my 40 for many a miles...

But.... Your best bang for your buck is a pair of CharlieNY carbs.. The Carpenter carbs are tuned for a single carburetor setup. If you are running two carbs on the same engine, I would send cores to Charlie, or he may be able to sell you two outright. He can fine tune them and set them up properly for your application assuming is it not a bone stock application.... Likely you'll come out cheaper as well...
