I am looking for the latch spring at the front of the hood which goes around the dowel and pushes the hood up an inch or so when the latch is released. It measures 1 1/4" OD and mine is 2 3/8" long.

I needed one last year and had a heck of a time. They pop up on ebay from time to time. I wound up getting one from a friend's stash.

7C-19625 is 48-55 ford truck and is available from Carpenter. Looks similar but will have to phone for sizes.
