Default 38 ford business coupe suspension ?

hello to all and thanks for the help! my name is Matt I am from a small town in central Kansas. I have recently purchased a 38 Ford 5 window business coupe. I am wanting to put all new suspension and drivetrain in it. I am going to go with a new Mustang 2 front suspension with either coil overs or air bags. as for the rear suspension I am Not sure what would be best. I am kind of leaning toward the airbag 4 link rear suspension. I was wondering if anybody knew where I could get a kit that would fit properly on this year and model. I would also be open to any comments on a different types of rear suspension system....thanks!!!

Matt,

You would get a better response (and reception) on the "Hot Rods & Customs" forum. It will link you to a site called HAMB.

The HAMB is our sister site, lots of knowledge over there for what you want. Now if we can persuade you to bring your baby back to her former glory, we're the guys you could talk to.
Whichever way you decide to go, good luck.

Hope the coupe is a good as it looks, cool project. As stated for newbies the HAMB is a wealth of knowledge. not trying to sway you but our 37 coupe rides real nice and handles ok too for a dropped I beam and parallel rear springs , roll bar front and rear with panhard bar on the front , Of course radials too. Been around the track in it, definitely not a racer though.

Why not find a brand x, stovebolt cpe to butcher. Its your car but it is a realatively rare model. Not many 38 std cpe's survived.

I argree with jimTN. By the time you have modified your 38, it will be a lot more common. Think about it, at all the car shows (except the Early Ford V8 Club of course) there are a lot more heavily modified cars than original cars. Mustang 2, coil overs, air bags, etc are common. A restored 38 standard coupe is rare even at the V8 club meets.

Maybe a little inspiration:
