Does anyone know if a steering box from a 1948 to 1952 Ford 1/2 Ton Pickup Truck will fit a 1946 Ford 1/2 Ton Pickup Truck without needing any modifications?

they're different , '42-'47 is cross steer & '48-'52 is side steer. but the guts are the same.

Many thanks for the info! I was hoping the whole assembly would be the same. It would probably make the hunt easier. Not sure what cross-steer & side-steer means, but I guess I don't need to know since they're not compatible.

Cross steer means the drag link goes from the steering box to the passenger side spindle. Side steer means the draglink goes from the steering box to the driver's side spindle.
