More likely the high gas price and enormous taxes we pay here. I want out of here, but my kids are married and grandkids are in the plan. Try telling your wife you want to move. Fat chance!!

Ken, you'll like it in Ga. My cousin lives in Cleveland Ga. which isn't far from Young Harris. She went there five years ago and loves it, lives in the mountains off a dirt road. Don't blame you for wanting out of here. My wife can't travel much and all the kids are in the area or we'd be out of here tomorrow. Who knows what the future will bring, good luck. Barry

I have been living a quiet and mostly peaceful life in South Carolina since leaving the Houston ratrace back in '93. Inexpensive living, low taxes, good bang for your buck for real estate. Parts of the State are beautiful. One day's drive from MA to FL or as far west as Texas.

I unfortunately live in New York also. Can't move due to wifes illness. My property taxes in the past 11 years I have been retired have gone up 100%. My pension has risen 0%.
