Hi Everyone. RSC, Aww Man, that's just useless junk. A waste of good money and you should'a just left it sit!
Trailer it up to my driveway and I'll let you park it and work on it for free for one year, heck, even fourteen months. If it's not driving by then it's mine! Deal? Ask around, I'm a nice guy like that.

Re: My recent find; a 38 Std Coupe
Thanks everyone...I hope it will make it to Dawsonville one day! It was sanded to bare metal last spring after being in a barn for years, and put outside a week ago and its now covered in surface rust. He also ripped out the interior. I'm very glad to have been told about it, and was probably minutes from being sold to someone else. If it doesnt buff out Ken, I guess it'll have to be painted Might be looking for trim and a used interior soon, maybe other stuff too.

38 standard cps are unusually rare and I love the look...actually prefer over the Dlx.
Good score. GB

Re: My recent find; a 38 Std Coupe
If you drive it with the cable brakes you want to spray the cable coverings with
penetrating oil to soak through the outer covering to lubricate the inner cables. This should be done on a regular basis. G,M,

Re: My recent find; a 38 Std Coupe
Thanks everybody. The car has been converted to hyd brakes many years ago, and has 59ab motor. I have another project going, but will check to see if stuck this weekend. Will get penetrating oil in spark plug holes tonight. Put it in a friend's shop a few miles from me and haven't been able to check much. Looked at in rain Sat morning, bought in rain Sat evening, hauled home in rain Sun (300+ miles total) , so I havent even seen it dry yet. I can already tell it isn't as complete as I'd like, but will get there. I'm still like a kid on Christmas morning about getting it!

Anyone close to me have 4 16" tires to mount just for getting it mobile? Threadbare, etc. Located in west Alabama.
Thanks, Richard |

Re: My recent find; a 38 Std Coupe
Update: Got the tires from Ken so it can be moved around, sanded back to bare metal and covered with epoxy black etching primer.

Re: My recent find; a 38 Std Coupe
The '38 'Standard' model is sooo much prettier than the 'Deluxe' model....
