Default Drum tailite

On the 28 special coupe, what type of bracket was used to attach the drum tail lite? Was it on the body or the fender? Good photo anyone?

28 & E29 with the drum lamp mount with a cast/forged bracket to 3 holes on the rear sub frame that crosses the rear of the car body below the rear panel below the trunk door or jump seat. 3 thread inserts are there in a triangle pattern. Left hand side for USA cars. Fender mount was next in line during 29.

Check closely for L/H sub-rail tail light bracket mounting nuts, they "may" have Bondo'd over.

See page 18-5 in the Restoration Guidelines for drawings of the rear lamp brackets used on this car.

Hi, Ray. Yes, we were among the lucky half of Houston that did not get water in our homes. I was worried. The water kept rising steadily. I've never seen it this high before -- lived here 25 years. But it stopped going up late Monday night and then around noon on Tuesday it started to go down slowly. Many of our neighbors, the ones closest to the creek, had 4 feet of water in their homes. A real mess. Mold is growing on everything.

Up north where we are, the creeks and rivers are mostly all back inside their banks now. The only way you can tell that a road used to be a river is from the mud film on everything. Out to the west and southwest of town they are still flooded pretty bad. They say it will be that way for a couple of months. Beaumont, to the east of us, is also looking very bad. The storm went ashore the second time over that way and brought a lot of rain water with it.

Thought I saw a photo of one mounted to a fender. I like the looks of the drum lite and wanted to put it on my coupe.
