Default Brake Hoses needed

I am Converting a '32 to hydraulics, does anybody know the part numbers for the front and "rear" hoses, such as Wagner or NAPA numbers? I am told that the hoses are 15.75 inches and 8.75 inches long. Are these hoses readily available ?

I don't have the numbers offhand, but you should be able to use the '39 to '48 numbers from NAPA or whoever. Things get complicated if you're using F1 pickup or similar brakes on the fronts. The F1 used 3/16" lines, so you'll either need to get special hoses with 3/8 -24 male thread for the wheel cylinder end and 7/16-24 female end to connect to 1/4" tubing. (Next time, I'm going to use 3/16" tubing on the front and standard F1 hoses.) Richard Lacy of Early V8 Garage seems to have access to odd ball hoses. You'll also have problems with the rear since the '39 to '48 cars had a hard line to a spot on the frame and then a short hose to the torque tube. There is no spot on the '32 frame close enough to the bracket on '39 to '48 torque tubes to use the relatively short rear hose there. An option is to use a very short hard line and then the hose without an intermediate mechanical anchor point. I had a special fitting made up that screws into the master cylinder "V" fitting and allows use of a longer FRONT hose to a bracket on the torque tube. I'll see if I can find some pix to add to this post.

Tom: I looked for, but couldn't find, a thread a while ago where someone had a special hose made up with a male end that would screw into the "V" fitting and a female end that would accept the 1/4" hard line on the torque tube. I'll keep looking to find a link to that thread.

PeteVS-

I have had some unique brake hoses custom made by Brake Hoses Unlimited (Holland, MI). Quality work at a reasonable price. Phone 616-836-7885. Ask for Nick

I got truck hoses, from Mac's... For the A-V8... As they only list ones for cars, and medium duty trucks the selection was simple... They list the lengths, and it seemed suitable...
If your auto parts store has old brake hose specs book, they are listed by end fittings, features, and lengths...
