Default 46 Big Truck Transmission Rubber Mounts ???

Trying to figure what rubber mount Ford used in a 46 1.5 ton truck. has the 4 speed with the emergency brake on the transmission. Have a picture of the two old rubber mounts along with the new one that I was told was the original one. The new one has metal incorporated in it. Also included a picture of the crossmember. The truck had the engine rebuilt back before my dad acquired it in 1974.

There are 2 photos of one that looks new. Is that top and bottom view of the same piece? As I recall, it requires 2 of them. Looks like a nice piece. I guess I have always just re-used my old ones, but yours are in bad shape. I, for one would like to see a photo of this truck and I'm sure others would as well.

Try Southside Obsolete in MN if you need replacements.

Bob, you make a good point there. It has been 5 years since I had a 1 1/2 ton. I still have a couple of one tons with the 4 speed box. I definately recall the rectangular rubber and steel piece in that diagram above. I remember driving the bolts out of that mount was right next to no fun at all. I will crawl under and take a look what's in a one ton.

The mount in original post looks like 1949-51 Mercury 8M-6038-B.

We used to have some stock of the rectangular rubber mounts…..those were the correct ones for the big trucks with the 4 speed transmissions. Probably sold the last one over a year ago. I have the basic dimensions for them in case someone wants to buy a chunk of rubber and make their own. The original was molded with the two bolt holes and you’d have to drill out those. The rubber was pretty stiff but I don’t know what the durometer specs were.

The round rubber biscuits in the photos above sure look like the 49-51 front motor mount type for the Mercury car. I’ve got those in stock but I’m not sure if they’re stiff enough for the truck application.

I think you will find your transmission mount here. I was looking to see what they have for '34 parts and came across it.

Attached are photos of the X Member that supports the Trans and the 4 Speed Transmission with mount. The rectangular Rubber Trans Mount went under the X member and poked up thru the two holes in the X member. Its hard to tell from your photos, but are we looking at the X Member or the Frame at the location of the existing rubber mounts? If the X Member I think you will need the rectangular rubber mount. There is also a metal plate that bolts to the X member holding the rubber mount in place.

took 30 minutes to clean all the dried up grease and oil off with a flat screw driver. Had some small rocks that made it about as hard as concrete to get out. Its exactly like it how everyone here has posted. thank you!!
