Default Hood hooks installation?

What kind of bewitching tricks shall i use to install the hood hooks. How do i fix it with just two hands..
Are there any simple and easy ways? The springs are really hard to compress. Please educate me.

The correct springs sre not difficult to instal .Fun Projects sell them. On yours,you can use an old piston pin and force spring up ,while inserting cotter pin through the slot.

I use some window sealing goop on the spring and washer to hold them into place and insert the cotter pin . Makes the job easy .

3rd hand is most helpful. Make sure the wood blocks are the same thicknrss as the originals (if using new). I made mine and the slight change in wood thickness made them a bear to pull up and latch. This also torques out the thin hood metal.
