Default Lowering Shackles For Rear Spring?

I see a lot of longer shackles used to lower the back end on the V8 cars. Is there any reason that can't be done on a Model A? Posies has some slightly longer shackles that will lower it a small amount. I'm looking for something more.

Interference with a rear axle tube will not allow longer shackles! Maybe new lowering spring?

Big Hammer is righty. The axle housings will not allow longer shackles but you can get a little lower by reversing the eyes on the spring. Flattening the spring is not a good idea because the shackles will be at the wrong angle. A special lowering spring will be shorter as well to make up for that.
