Default radiator cap wings @ jay leno's

i have put these on my own car as if a bird were flying the same direction as me driving. i just noticed a 1918 cadilac in jay lenos garage with the wings backwards. i would think any car jay leno had would be CORRECT in its restoration and i think i have seen this before(wings backwards). does anyone have any knowledge about this?

I took the wings off because (speaking as a person with severe OCD), I couldn't satisfy the OCD with any orientation of the wings.

So, now the OCD is satisfied by having the wings polished to perfection, wrapped in plastic, and stored in a box with the rest of the "extra parts" that go to my car.

Paul,
You're KRAZY too! I sprayed my wings with "CAST BLAST" to gain patina/age look, immediately, it wouldn't wipe off, even with fine steel wool Well! Sigh! it did look REALLY OOOOOLD! Like me (77!) Bill W.

Perhaps it is a rare 1918 only option. When the car is in reverse the wings rotate 180 degrees.

Seriously, does anyone know of a commercial or industrial application that uses a screw on radiator cap with the same size & thread pitch as the '28 & '29 radiator cap? I'd like to buy several inexpensive (CHEEP) caps to mount several "FUN" ornaments for a quick change. I think I read that they were 2 1/4" but I don't remember the thread pitch. I'm now searching for a chrome Rat Terrier & a chrome Rat.

When the wings appear to be backwards look at the feathers. I have people tell me mine are backwards, then I point out the direction of the feathers.

Mac's has them for $15. Radiator Cap

I don't think you'll find any kind of commercial/industrial cap that doesn't cost several times that amount. Also doubt you'll find one that fits.
