Hello i have the original housing. Does anybody know if an after market key mechanism and latch will work? Or where to buy an original? I also put a wanted ad in the swap meet.

You might get an answer sooner in the Early V8 (1932-53) section of the forum.

Check with a locksmith that has been in business a number of years. He/she may have cylinders, etc or work on your parts.
