Default removing pan from '48 Merc engine

Can't remove pan from '48Merc. engine which is in '40 Ford STD.2 dr. In side of pan is hanging up on flywheel , not crank counterweights.

When I worked on my ‘50 Ford, I had to remove the nut on the front motor mounts and jack up the motor in order to remove the pan.

Have you removed the bolt that is installed from the top at the right rear of the pan ?

Pictures BELOW show where this bolt is threaded into pan from TOP side, just above starter Bendix.
