The visor was integrated more into the top on the 1930/31 models. The wood header was capped by the steel filler panel and then the visor was placed over the top of it and screws were used to fix it to each side A pillar. A welt strip, much like that used on the earlier 1928/29 cowl & gas tank, was placed between the visor and the steel header cover panel as an anti squeak and a rain gasket. Ford was pretty liberal with the use of relatively thin anti squeak material and welting.

The front top molding that secures the top material on the front header, was installed from the drip rail on one side all the way across to the drip rail on the other side. This molding was nailed on. It was likely an extruded aluminum molding that came with the two lips open and then the lips are closed down over the nails after installation. Some two piece steel moldings were used on model A cars but I'm not sure about the Coupe. These have an inner strip that nails down the top material to the header and then the outer piece is snapped over the inner one to cover the nails. The 45B coupes should have the style #1 that is 5/8" wide flat bottom extruded aluminum molding with the closeable lips.

A person can use certain sealant being conservative with their application around the edges but I would avoid those that can have an adverse affect on bare steel like some RTV sealants that have acetic acid in there mix. If everything is primed & painted then it shouldn't affect things too much.
