Default V8 vs 6 cyl. Valve Guide Differences

I found some NORS 2 piece valve guides today. The boxes are old and unmarked. These are packaged 6 pairs per box so I assumed 6 cylinder though the guides look just like a 59AB type guide and initial measurements seem to make them the same. The Green Book shows a 6 cyl # for exhaust guides. My question is, is there a difference? There are 2 boxes so enough to make a set for a V8.
Thanks, Paul

6 cyl guides are one piece solid.

Lincoln Zephyr 12 cylinder would use two boxes.

The 6cyl guides I have look like V8 guides, but are 20% larger ---at least they are in the box of bearings, rings, pistons, valves labeled for flathead 6 ford ---and they are split guides ----if what you have looks like v8 and matches for size the Zephyr explanation sounds reasonable.

I think you hit the nail on the head, I looked up the info in my Zephyr parts book and found that the Zephyr's used a Ford #40-6510 valve guide on the exhaust valves, so packages of 12 pairs makes sense. I bought 2 boxes so now have enough for 1-V8 as the parts seem the same.
