Interior question
I took the advice of some Ford barners and ordered my interior kit for my 1936 truck from them. I told them I wanted kit the way it would have come from the factory and they happily took my order and money. They were very very nice to deal with so far and the seat kit came in and looks great. My question is in regard to the headliner and back of the cab. The head liner and piece for around the window is a black hard pre cut plastic is is molded to the truck. I think it's called ABS chicken pattern. I don't dislike it but I thought it would have more of a cloth type material. Is what I received the way it would have rolled off the assembly line?
Thanks for the feedback. |

Re: Interior question
I think the originals were a cardboard material.

Re: Interior question
Embossed panel board was used by a lot of manufacturers and it was likely available is several colors. You can get vinyl spray color from automotive paint sources to color the ABS part close to the way it originally was. I prefer molded fiberglass for durability but there may not be a lot of choices there.

Re: Interior question
Embossed moulded cardboard is what was originally used for the PU cab head liner. Here are some photos from Bruce Engstrom's original interior.
