Default Using 1951 Ford automatic shifter w/chevy 350/350

Has anyone had experience retaining the Ford steering column with Fordomatic shift lever and connecting to a Chevy 350 transmission?

Throw out that orange monstrosity and put the original Ford back in. Problem solved!

All of them perform the same basic function. The linkage rod is what will be the big difference. A kick down cable will also have to be figured in.

The stock automatic column will work with the turbo350. You will need to make some adjustment to the shifter rod going to the transmission to get the trans speeds to line up with the indicator. Look at the Lokar linkage kit for the turbo 350. It should work for you. You will have to get creative to put in a neutral safety switch, but there are kits for those also. Some early Ford automatic columns had a neutral safety switch on the bottom of the column. It will also work with the turbo 350. I've used the early F-100 automatic column to operate a turbo 350 and it worked just fine.
