Questions for Marco
In a recent thread, Marco talked about seat configurations, wood etc. I was wondering would you have the top seat wood dimensions? This is an adjustable unit from my Briggs T.S. My wood is so far gone I can only get a few, but not all. Or give me a source for a picture.
Also, Is there a source of fabric. I can't believe the prices of L B's. Kits. I estimate using 10-12 running yds 54 Inches wide. We are planning on chicle brown and chicle drab. I have tried researching it, but haven't got a name for it yet. Thanks. Terry |

Re: Questions for Marco
terry i cant help you with the wood dimensions, but can tell you from experience of cheaping out on a cartouche upholestry kit vs going with an L-B. it has worn out quickly on the driver seat and l/s doorpanel. as you know my car gets very little use and will have it at renningers this spring if you want to see what i am talking about.

Re: Questions for Marco
Thanks Mitch! I wasn't thinking of Cartouche either. If I can get the name and discription of the fabric, somebody is making it, somewhere. I think that $2500 is just a little steep, considering that you must install it yourself.

Re: Questions for Marco
Tom Wesenberg has mentioned a lady around his area that hand made upholstery. You may want to contact him.

I would hold off on a decision regarding the interior until you determine how well the car is turning out. You may decide a modernized facsimile is "good enough", or you may decide the car deserves the basic original characteristics that will take it back in time. You won't find anyone that knows anything besides modern foam rubber construction unless you seek out an expensive specialist. Even if you go the modern route I'd think the brown mohair fabric, headlining cloth, water resistant panel board, and all the other miscellaneous trim items, would set you back close to $1,000. Now I have a question! What type floor pan do you have under the front seat? I'm betting it's the flat type with three fore/aft ribs like mine but in could be the deeper, rounded, die stamped pan with no ribs.

Re: Questions for Marco
Marco,. You're correct about the pan, Flat + 3 ribs. The screw looks square threaded about 7-8 inches long. It does not reach back to the rear as the one in the picture. The finish is Pyroxalin (sp) black laquer. The part that the screw turned in was nickel plated and is now painted black. The Base is now done and I'm working now on the bottom of the seat or the piece that has the 3/4" holes that the lugs, studs, metal pegs ?? sit into. I will try to post pictures, but I'm not good at computer stuff.
