Default 37 4dr fuel line

What is the remaining length of the fuel line from the tank to the firewall once it passes through the firewall clip? Thanks.

All the way to the end. (The devil made me do it.)

Lawson, ?? How much line extends past the clip once it’s fastened to the firewall? Then there’s the flex line to the pump.

Its been my experience that the end "past" the firewall clamp isn't so much an "exact" length as there has been "some" movement in the line as to allow you to maybe gain a little OR loose a little (either direction) IF need be. On my 39 Mercury I would say I have about 1-1/2" - maybe 2" beyond the clamp before the rubber supply line is attached IF that helps you!!! AS I say, I can loosen my clamp and slide the copper line side to side "some" IF need be.....maybe its not in the exact location further on the frame???? BUT there is movement IF need be on mine!!!!

Attached is a picture of the fuel line from a 1937 Cabriolet that was shown at the meet in Franklin, TN this summer. This should give you a good idea of how to finish the hard line on your sedan.

You can take this "To the bank" as 100% researched &correct!!!! Which also appears to be about 1-1/2". Great picture Zeke3 just what the Dr ordered!!

NOTE the "slight" bend outward from the firewall....consistent in all I have experienced

The firewall in that photo sure looks familiar.

Unfortunately the pictures are not near as nice as in person!!! That car was what I call "drool-worthy' and that still falls short of the mark!! I hope and wish to be 1/2 as good as "that guy" (and Kube) one day!!!

.

And just a couple more showing the distance to be very short, like somewhere between 1" to 2-1/2" or so. Doesn't seem to be any EXACT science involved.

That was an "odd" question. MY first thought would be "WHY" do a "perfect" restoration and NOT have a running car?? MY response is "YOU CAN rest assured"!! As much OR more attention was paid to the details, fit, finish and the Ultimate performance of the engine/chassis as the restoration portrays, which "AGAIN" pictures do not accurately show JUST HOW GOOD it really is in person!!! OH and I saw it running AND driving on a couple of occasions in June of this year!!!! IT ran as good as it looks, guaranteed!!

My sense of humor is dry. Sometimes too dry. It is a beautiful car.

This is one reason the forum has a "sarcasm" emoji. Or maybe a "big grin".
