Default Buying from Mac's

I'm sure this is a really silly question. I'm ready to order all my door, window and glass parts from Mac's. How has your dealings been with them as far as customer service and in stock items?

You know I have bought a few items from Mac's and have not had any issues. I had a return that was my fault and they handled it with no problems.

Never a problem here, and really was impressed with the transmission gears I got from them.

Bert's charges exactly what it cost them to ship to you, and no more. A good company to deal with.

Let the search option here be your friend. Where your research needs to be done is who is making what, ...and whose are they selling. For example, there are some parts that Brattons manufacturers and distributes that Macs sell, ...and other times there are items that Brattons manufacturers ...but so does Macs. The quality is usually not equal between the two items. Also take into consideration of whom is doing the evaluating.........

I think he's asking because Macs has a 15% off sale (purchases over $199) that ends today.

I'm thinking about buying some subrails and a front bumper (for an insurance claim) and may use them because of the sale today.

Is it worth the 15% to have it shipped across the U.S.A.??? over $199.00 >>> what about shipping cost ...who pays for that??? Anything east to west shipped passed the Mississippi river just about doubles the mailing cost...

I found the quality to be fine on what I brought but shipping was horrendous (relative to what the other parts houses charge) And when I questioned the rate the response was downright rude -so I haven't been back -Karl

I used Mac's when I operated my Model 'A' Restoration and Parts Retail Business. I had a Dealer programme with them. Their service was excellent and they went out of their way to be of assistance. All the parts were good, and if anything was broken or damaged in transit it was in the next shipment without any questions being asked. I was straight up with them and they were the same to me. I would certainly recommend them to anybody.

Never had any problem with Mac's. That said, I never had a problem with Snyders or Brattons either.

I always had good luck with MAC's.
Only complaint is that items remain in catalogue that are extinct.
Oh well if they save money it keeps the prices down.

So far I have used both, Mac's and Brattons. Mac's never seem to be in a hurry to ship the order unless I paid the 3.50 rush rate, which only came a day earlier than the normal rate would. Brattons came in three days of shipping. That was worth the difference in cost to me....now Brattons in in MD and Macs is in NY. I'm in NJ. so not sure if that makes the difference. Pleased with the quality of both in products.

Walt @ Bratton's always ships very fast. I don't know how he does it. I placed an order about noon and he said that it would go out that day. The next afternoon at 3 PM the next day it was at my doorstep in Mi. 650 miles away. Great service.

I have use Mac's for a number of things. Had no problem with most items. Very few items were problems but some I had to remake a bit or the quality may not have been as good as other vendors. But I think these problems that I had with them are typical of aftermarket parts.

The things I like about them is their on-line site is easy to use and the fact that most times they have the items you order in stock. Other vendors at times do not stock some items you would think would be typical items they should have in stock.

I get most of my stuff from Macs or Brattons. I have been VERY please with the customer service from both. I feel I get very personal attention. I live in New England and find I get quicker shipping time from Macs. I'm an internet shopper and find Macs website far superior and easier to search.

What I find I do now is drop everything I need into the shopping carts of both sites and compare prices. Assuming quality is comparable (and both suppliers are pretty straightforward about quality) price decides whose 'submit order' button I click.
