I followed that build on his web site. Extremely talented man! So much to re-engineer to make it come back to life. Many of the systems were completely gone, he re manufactured many of the parts to open the "roof flaps".

Wow, what a beast of the space-age era. Look at those nose-cones on the front. How fast does it fly, hehe.

I think he said it's a 292.

One of a kind, for sure. I can do without the narrator's hyperbole.

I thought all the true Turnpike Cruisers had fresh air vents atop the windshield headers?

They did, but this is a concept car not a production car so some of the styling elements are different or not present.

Looking at this 1957 Mercury Monterey Phaeton Coupe, you can see that it got all its styling cues from the XM Turnpike Cruiser experimental car.

The restoration of the XM Cruiser is amazing. I hope he finds a suitable buyer for the car. I would not care to be sitting under those sun roofs very long on a sunny day.

Tom sold it to a museum. No idea how much he got. Watched the build on his web site. Amazing!
