E brake handle extention..quiz..
I'm looking for info on the handles that clamped to a Model A brake handle...to make it "easier" to reach. >Did they have a common name? >When did they first appear? 50's...40's? >Are they any da*n good? ....thanks.... <table><tr><td><font face="arial"> |

Re: E brake handle extention..quiz..
They first appeared as an aftermarket accessory while the Model A was still in production. The peak of their popularity was in the 1930's, and no doubt there was more than one manufacturer. I have owned one since around 1941 and mine has the trade name FULTON on it, and FULTON made accessory parts in the 1930's. Snyder's offers a copy of these today under part # A-2780-EXT. Another popular FULTON accessory was clutch & brake pedal pads, and today Snyder's catalog lists FULTON pedal pads as copies of a pad sold in the Model A days....Snyder's part # A-18422-FUL. <table><tr><td><font face="arial"> |

Re: E brake handle extention..quiz..
They are very handy--I have one (Brand unknown) in my B, and it saves a LONG reach for that handle. They were made for other cars with utterly different release systems, as well--I've seen several designs that couldn't possibly fit a Ford--and were sold through all the Western Auto type places until there were too few A's around to justify production. Most types take a shift knob, so you have a handy place to display an extra interesting knob, too. <table><tr><td><font face="arial"> |
