Re: model a sereal number location
The engine # is one the left side of the block just below the head halfway between front and back. Frame # is on top of left frame rail below the cowl.

Re: model a sereal number location
You have to remove the body and left side splash apron to be able to see the frame number. Gar Williams

Re: model a sereal number location
Here is a link to the post that I submitted a few months ago. About the 4th response down from gpits68 shows a picture of the frame number location.

This is an interesting question and seems to be a source of confusion over the years. I've seen any number of threads , over the years, that say that you have to 'look under the cowl' and 'splash apron' on/on! I have actually taken my original '30 roadster apart body off frame. My frame number is very close to that illustrated in #4 of older thread alluded to by Tommy here. You will notice that frame number in #4 in under and near the rear hood hold down frame brace LEFT SIDE under the left front FENDER ! My actual frame number is three (3) inches forward of #4. Due to this factual information, I've asked in the past threads about whether anyone could say/document that FORD employees stamped frame numbers...at differing locations (i.e.-splash apron/cowl and forward of cowl) depending on criteria that Ford issued/had for stamping frame numbers...no responses BTW- During past similar discussions, NO ONE has ever posted a picture of frame number which showed that it was under splash apron/cowl..go figure! |
