40-47 Forward Cab Mount Installation???

I've attached a picture from Drake's catalog so the part I'm asking about is clear. I'm pretty sure the drawing is wrong since the wood would have to be under the mount. I bought a 41 truck and this part appears to be missing. I bought 2 repros, but I'm not clear exactly how they should go. Can I get some help?
