Mounting a fuel cut off valve

I am installing a electric fuel pump with a manual fuel shut off valve. My question is those of you that installed a manual fuel shut off valve did you drill into the frame to mount it with bolts or use a epoxy to attach the mounting brackets. I glued two pieces of metal together with super glue and could not break them apart. But than would vibration break the bond of the super glue.

Mounted near the carb where you have an easy reach, and open view, it could stand on a metal line. If however you're thinking rear frame; and don't want to drill I'd would not go less than proper prep and J-B weld or PC7. That said my vote would be to mount it rigid with hardware to avoid future vibration troubles. IMHO

Make a bracket that can be used with an existing bolt like a body bolt near the fuel line. Don't mount the valve near the exhaust pipe incase the valve decides to start leaking . Yes I have had manual valves go bad and leak around the handle.

Soak that metal part, that you glued together, in gas for a little while and then check to see if it still holds together. I would guess it would not.
If you get in an accident and need to shut off the gas, will you be able too reach the mechanical valve before your car bursts into flames? Go with the advice from f1 builder.

I soldered a radiator pet cock in the fuel line 15 years ago. It allows me to shut off the gas flow when I need to change one of the fuel filters or electric fuel pump. No bracket needed. Rubber donut keeps it from hitting the floor and also absorbs any vibration.

I agree with f1builder. My electric pump has a toggle switch. This allows for fuel shutoff and is easier that a valve. To change by carbs or filter just start the engine, turn off the toggle and wait for the engine to quit running.

I installed cutoff valve directly to tank, then installed filter, and then installed electric fuel pump. That way if you replace the filter or elect. fuel pump,just cut off gas flow and replace. cutoff valve screws directly to tank and tank holds it in place. just my 2 cents
