What's between my headliner and steel roof
The headliner in my '41 coupe will need replacement some day, whatever is between headliner and roof feels like its crumbling, is it cardboard or some other material?. I don't want to replace it until next year, it's not high on my list.

Re: What's between my headliner and steel roof
That crumbling stuff is the tar paper insulator Henry Ford glued to the inside roof are to repel heat, lessen road noise and make the roof sound less tinny.
When you get ready to replace your headliner you can scrap it off and replace with modern insulator/sound deadener. |

Re: What's between my headliner and steel roof
as you are ridding down a fairly bumpy road and the "stuff" above the headliner which is also bumping down the road decides to come DOWN, question is it easier to do now or do later after the shower of "stuff" don't ask how I KNOW about said shower!!
