Gents,

For some of you it might help to give the closure showing what i did and the reults.

I ended up seeing the tina shin video on youtube, i heard she's the new Tech Director for MAFCA. Seems to know a lot about model A's too.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXkVE66teHg&t=4s

i followed her advice. This meant pulling the tank along with breaking thru all the rusted fasteners, torn welting, windshield header... etc.

The gillespie series from pumpkintown kinda explained how to remove the tank but i also used the advice from the red book too.

https://www.youtube.com/@pumpkintown/videos

I filled the tank with lead pellets like Tina told me to and shook it for a hours then removed all the pellets and washed it out. I wasn't excited about the results, so i repeated the entire process a second time.

I've uploaded both photos here. i'm so tired i never want to do this ever again. It's probably going to take multiple orders to brats and snyds to put humpty dumpty back together again.

thank you all,
steve

After cleaning the tank well, I used a sealer in it. So far after 10 years or so, still in good shape.

Total myth! Based on my own experience, -and the experiences of many others, this is totally false. It can't get the insides clean because of the baffles.
