Strange German Model A Cabriolet

Just wondering if anyone has ever seen or heard of anything like the photo below? Saw it while looking around on eBay. Says it was printed from the original negative and is from Berlin. Maybe a coach built option or something?

I noticed that it too has the Trafficator Turn Signals that "Brad In Germany" recently posted about.

Very rarely do the German bodied cars look "Right" to me. Fat doors and goofy tops, sorry, I just don't like them.

I saw it at Lake Worth Fords & Friends car show four years ago.
It was VERY WELL put together.
It had an eagle and swastica bumper shield.
I will search for my photo.

One of the guys that followed the old Fordbarn has a slant windshield version of the car in the ad. I can't offer a pic without permission.

It looks something like the famous Cord designer's Model A custom from 1930. His was based on a Sport Coupe and thie one seems to be based on a Vickey.

Was his name Gordon Bueler?

The Gordon Buehrig Model A was different.........it was pleasing to look at.

All that German beer guzzling created the need for bigger doors. Only natural this was another German Fort`e.
I really enjoyed looking at that long door.

Kind of like the 1975-1977 Jaguar XJ-12 C
This Coupe had a floor pan 6" shorter then a four door while the door was 6" longer and no 'B' post between the two windows. To have the two window fit propper took an additional year of development before this body was ready for the market.

I always thought just the opposite. I think the European,especially the German versions of Henry's cars looked really elegant and pleasing to look at. Maybe its because they are so different from what I normally see.

Thanks for posting pictures of the 1932 Bruce. I was certain that nothing like the top photo was created, or that if they were, there are none left.

Does anyone else have photos or any more photos of the '32 that Bruce posted above from the side view? It looks like the car in the photo Bruce posted is a 4 door. I would love to see some more shots of it as well.

I think the German cars are neat. Quite a conversation piece!

I saw a picture of a foreign Model A "Club" Cabriolet very similar to the picture but it had a built in trunk. My "modified" cabriolet that came from Argentina could have been influenced by Germain design or maybe the body guy just had a big family and needed more room. Anyway, I like the extra room and will get it on the road someday.

the green '32 looks like one that resides here in Jacksonville. the owner also has another German-built V8, a 34 or 35. both are VERY nice cars.

In 2006, the Amelia Island Concurs 'd Elegance featured a number of these European custom Fords, all prewar V8. No MA. Perhaps somebody has some photos of the event. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and frankly these cars did nothing for me. I was more interested in the Dusenburg SJ phaeton originally built for William Schick (razorblades). All black with blackwalls. A striking car. Only a handfull of supercharged cars were originally built. Of the 400 or so big Dusies built '29 -36, most were Js.,

This looks like the same car, though I shot this at Temecula Ca. in '07. There were two of them there parked beside each other, but I can't seem to find that pic. If I figure out where I filed it I'll add it later.

No, the two at Temecula were both '32s, I'm pretty sure the other one was a burgundy and black combo, or maybe all burgundy.
