Question Motor Swap?

Hey All,

If one was to put a 37 flathead v8 into an early 31 Tudor, would the firewall need to be modified?

I understand mounting mods would be needed, I'm just not sure about the overall length.

Regards
Bill

I’ve not done it, but have read you don’t need to cut the firewall.
The Vern Tardel book How to build a traditional Ford hotrod has all the details, I believe.
The Hamb is a better website to research that type of mod. Probably been done thousands of times.
Keep in mind the brake/suspension/steering/rear changes that may be appropriate once the engine has 3 times the power of the stock one.
It’s kind of a rabbit hole.

No mods to the firewall with flathead Ford V8.

No mods with small block 302 Ford.

Yes mods with SBC to clear ignition.
