Motor Swap?
Hey All,
If one was to put a 37 flathead v8 into an early 31 Tudor, would the firewall need to be modified? I understand mounting mods would be needed, I'm just not sure about the overall length. Regards Bill |

I’ve not done it, but have read you don’t need to cut the firewall.
The Vern Tardel book How to build a traditional Ford hotrod has all the details, I believe. The Hamb is a better website to research that type of mod. Probably been done thousands of times. Keep in mind the brake/suspension/steering/rear changes that may be appropriate once the engine has 3 times the power of the stock one. It’s kind of a rabbit hole. No mods with small block 302 Ford. Yes mods with SBC to clear ignition. |
