Differential Drip
My bottom differential plug usually has one drip of oil on it. I need to change the fluid, and I’m wondering if some Teflon tape around the plug would help the drip.

Re: Differential Drip
Not sure about Teflon Tape, but if you do use it use teh version in teh yellowish tape container which is rated for gas and oil. Not the white which is for plumbing/water.

Re: Differential Drip
It is a pipe thread. Any sealant should work fine.

Re: Differential Drip
Pipe dope or Rectorseal. Teflon tape was developed during the manhattan project,to seal massive pipe racks used to separate isotopes of uranium.

Re: Differential Drip
I still do not think the white stuff is good for gas and oil. Used some tape once on a Carb float valve because I suspected gas was leaking past the threads and shim washers. Next day my truck was running poorly. Pulled teh lower carb half off and the gas in the bowl was whitish, some of the Teflon tape had partially dissolved in the gas
