Changing dist.Cam From 40B to 11A
Will I notice any improvement if I change the 40B cam in the 35 dist to the later cam of the later dist 11A.. .I have a new Skip coil so want to keep the 3 bolt coil.. I know Bubba said this would Make the best set up for improvement. I have a 37 engine in the 35 .I realize I have to change points also....

I think you will if it is set up correctly. Gas today is better then in 1935 (even if it seems like swap water compared to the 60s).

Re: Changing dist.Cam From 40B to 11A
I have a Sun dist machine so can do a pretty good job of setting up and checking out..the 11A does give a little more advance, just wondering if I would notice any change...on the car...it runs really good now but had dist off to check it out for summer driving and have a dist built up with the 11A cam ..thought I might try it out...

Re: Changing dist.Cam From 40B to 11A
I had Bubba do one for me ! Like a new motor. Son was following me with his 35 and hit a straight stretch and stepped on it.Was in my 35 Touring sedan. He said ""what did you do--I couldn't catch up to you""? I said mjust chg'd Dizzy! Really woke up my 35. JM@CW.

I think you will see a huge improvement in the running of the engine. The 40B is a 14-16 degree distributor and the 11A is a full 22 degrees . The addition of the dual -single small points has a lot to offer as well, better dwell control etc.... On your sun machine set the drivers side to 22.5 degrees and the pass side combined at 36 with both working. Let us know how she runs..... |
