I'd just get me another fan. Mess with it and it might come apart later and really screw stuff up. JMO

I am not that much up on 40's, but I don't think I have ever seen a Ford fan with rubber. All steel riveted together.

you probably have a 59AB 42-48 fan setup as they had rubber sandwiched on the hub and blade,40-41 fans mounted to the crank pulley, i believe macs or other venders sell them rubbers,i would highly recommend you repair it asap..m2cents

39-40-41 does have rubber. I also suggest replacing the fan.

I once had a steel fan blade fly apart. It missed me, but went thru the hood and radiator. Very lucky as I was leaning over the front fender with the hood open giving it gas by hand.
