Starter trouble
1930 pick up . stock . starter has the new style bendix . timing it today , it back fired thru the carb . now we have a big noise out of the bell housing . took the starter out , cant see anything wrong , ran a magnet thru the best i could , nothing . do the new type bendix have problems with back fire as the old style did ? any ideas appreciated ........ steve

Check to see if the ring gear is still fully seated on the flywheel.

i believe it is , but will recheck . i think it got the bendix (starter drive) . thanks .. steve
