My wife and I took our cars (hers - 1970 Cougar XR-7 and mine - 53' Merc convertible) to a local car show today. Three nice A's showed up, that I hadn't seen before.

Mine was the only Flathead V8 at the show. It is getting harder, every year, to find Flatheads in the cars any more.

A car show photographer once told me told, if possible, always be sure to also include a photo of car show vehicles (with the hood closed) in order to accentuate the true beauty of a vehicle. Those are both beauties.

Totally agree, I have heard it compared to a line of alligators, with their mouth open. My bad.

True enough but I do like to show off the flathead for those that have never seen such an engine. We were actually fairly high percentage wise yesterday at the local show. My Merc, a 53 Meteor and a 46 Ford all running original equipment flatheads.

Ahhhhhh, that's the ticket. Well done. No alligators allowed unless they have their mouth's closed when cameras are clicking.
