1931 Service Car (Closed Cab and 229-A Body)

1931 AA Service Car with 229-A Service body, steel top Closed Cab, dual rear fenders, left/right front fender side mount spare wheels. This sale includes an additional AA 157" chassis (less engine/transmission). Location is in La Verne, California. This is an in-process restoration project. Much of the restoration is completed. The picture with this ad shows the AA before restoration started and where the restoration is currently.

So, don't miss seeing all photos. Note that some of the photos show the same parts because parts got moved around during the photo shoot. These are not duplicate parts.

The frame, front end, rear end, eight wheels, left/right front wheel carriers are restored and assembled. The engine is rebuilt. The steering column is restored but not installed. The late 1931 steel top cab is in white primer (includes left/right indented doors). The pictures at the link above show that the cab parts (windshield and moldings) are in final black color and some in primer. The radiator shell, front shield, front fenders, fender shields, running boards, and running board shields are in final black paint. The dual wheel rear fenders and hood are in primer.

The 229-A Service body (i.e. cargo body) has had new wood made and assembled. The sheet metal sides and metal rear panels have had some metal work completed and these panels have been fit to the wood structure. The unrestored tool box lid, hand rails and hand-rail stanchions are there. There is an unrestored auto crane as shown in the linked photos.

This AA is being sold for the restorer's widow. The California title's vin and frame id are AA4808130. The engine id is AA4808143.

Note - there are no tires with this sale. The restored backing plates do not have brake shoes or emergency brake bands. The included AA 157" chassis would have these original parts for restoration.
