odd intake manifold ID needed
diging through my intake manifolds i found an odd one. what is it for,? is an early ,59a type, has a breather hole in front right side that bolts on, an exhaust 1/4 plug opening on backside of the carb riser, aluminum w/part # CIIA-6520-C2. is it military?? iny help appreciated. idon't know how to post pix,sorry.

Figure it out...not that difficult to learn to post pictures here. There have been many many previous "how to do" posts on this. Do a search to find those. WE NEED PICTURES!!

I'll hazard a guess although difficult w/o a photo. Canadian, passenger car, 1949 - 50.

Yea, I'm looking for an aluminum 8BA/8CM intake for a future project. but very inexpensive.

Used '41-48 on Canadian engines, has tapping locations for '39-back vac hookups. Used om many wartime engines, flange allows use with British Solex 4 bolt carbs, that plug is for truck vac brake booster.
The basic PN was made in iron and aluminum, the last letter tells which it is...I can't remember which is which but you can obviously tell whether it's iron or aluminum. Front pipe is filler, has no role in ventilation, but many wartime motors with this had PCV for durability. |
