I just bought a 57 2 dr ranchwagon. I need the paint color and code for the brown on the dashboard. It is all one color. Kind of a medium brown. Thanks for your help Fred

Just hit your local automotive paint dealer and ask to see the paint chip book for the year and manufacturer of your car. They should have interior colors as well as exterior colors. I generally use a lacquer on the dash without the clear so it’s not to shiny (keep it waxed for sun protection).

I havenot checked the paint store. The reason is I have checked the ditzler book and the dupont book and neither of them have interior colors. I was hopeing someone had a factory detail from a catalogue or letter stating the color and code. Thanks Fred. Anyone out there can help me?

If it is the metalic brown that the Sedan Deliveries came with, then the colour is Silver Mocha. Google Silver Mocha Ford and the first listing will take you to a site that has the Ford, PPG and Dupont codes. Problem is Ford had two versions of that colour in '57, so you will need to see some chips to determine which one is right for you.

Yes,could be silver mocha,doeskin tan (is a light color) or gunmetal grey.

There were no specific paint colors for just the interiors.The colors were also used on the exteriors.

Dominic thanks for the tip on the site to go to. I think it is the silver mocha. I contacted a paint supplier today and he suggested to bring in a sample, so I am bringing in the glovebox and they will photograph it to get a match. I will check back to see if it is the same as the mocha. Thanks so much. Fred
