I just got one of these. Haven't used it yet, so we'll see!

We used to have a large rat snake that hung around our garage and barn. I never had a mouse problem until my wife ran over it with the lawn tractor (she does not like snakes). Since then I have been successfully using moth balls in my old Fords. Now she complains about their smell.

If you use the "just one bite" type of rat poison, ANYTHING that eats the carcass will die. Including your wife's favorite Fox Terrier.
I know this first hand.

The kind that the rodents have to eat several days in a row is reported to not be harmful to pets.
