Grounding a 1935 Radio Antenna
I am installing an original type roof mounted radio antenna in my '35 Ford coupe. I solder the antenna lead to the wire mesh. Then I solder the ground wire to the roof? Is this right? Thanks.

The center insulated wire soldered to the mesh. The 'ground'/shield/braided wire should be soldered to the car body at the roof....

On my 35 [Canadian], the antenna coaxial sheathing is grounded by means of a self tapping screw and crimped terminal into the 'box' section running down the door pillar at about the location of the top of the kick panel.
