Front end wobble
My 31 CCPU has a pretty good front end wobble. My first thought was king pin bushings. I checked my wheel bearings and they were adjusted properly. The drivers side was worse so I dismantled that side and removed the king pin.the king pin is fine. When I install the kingpin into the spindle when it’s off the car it seems to fit fine with almost no play. Yet when I place the spindle on the axle there seems to be considerable play. Am I missing something? Axle does not seem to be out of round. Any advice would be appreciated.

Re: Front end wobble
"almost no play" can get amplified when on the vehicle.
But another place to look is the fit of the king pin in the axle. It is not uncommon to find that the bore in the axle that the king pin slides into is worn. |
