Head removal
Not having the proper tools, I used a rope in the hole trick! #1 piston down and #4 I push 12 feet of 1/4 ploy rope down plug hole and push over the piston with a screw driver, then hand cranked the motor. Up came the head 1/8 inch then with a flat pry bar moved head up 1 1/2 inch off it came by hand! Someone had a post and the rope trick was one way to try :-) it works !!!

Re: Head removal
No bent rods not like hydraulic lock and yes a real tool would have worked.
Thought someone could use this along the road or when a real tool is not available |

Re: Head removal
It is just like a hydraulic lock and you can easily bent the 7" long spindly rods this way. Ask me how I know.
