Default PayPal --- lesson learned the hard way

Guys,
I learned a hard lesson today and really got taken for a substantial amount of money. Sometimes if you sell a item the buyer will specify that they Work 6 days a week and wish you to not have it signature required. I had a transaction where the buyer stated he works 6 days a week and requested it NOT have signature confirmation. The package arrived and the tracking shows it arrived and he filed a claim through PayPal and was able to have the funds reversed.

Long Story Short, regardless of what the tracking shows if it is of any value make it signature required regardless of the buyers wishes!! I say this all to keep any of you from being burned in the way that I was.

This was not a FordBarn transaction, but I rather just posted it as a helpful warning. Sad there are so many crooks these days.

Get hold of the transport company asap and find out who delivered the parcel.
They can tell who was the last person holding the package.
If he remembers the delivery and handing it over to someone...file a fraud case !
Having him as witness...
With a lot of questions asked the buyer might find the parcel again....

I am confused , the post says ref : Pay Pal ---
I really dont see this as a paypal issue but a issue between a buyer and seller pay pal just handled the dollars and when the buyer requested they refunded his money..
I never get a signature using paypal , they pay me with pay pal and i ship the product when payment has been recieved.

I have had a couple pay me but take their money back for one reason or another , i hate that when it happens as it may not have anything to do with me or the product......but it happens........
I assume you wont get the product back....then file a action with pay pal...

The post says PayPal simply because PayPal has sided with the buyer regardless that the item shows delivered. This was not a issue of whether the buy was unhappy with the package, he claims it was never delivered. He literally through a phone call made it quite clear what he was doing.

It would be the same as if I purchased 25 distributors from you (this transaction would be around that amount), told you to mail with out signature required. I receive them, file a dispute through PayPal they take the money back from you and reissue it to me. Then I would get the items for free! All in all my mistake for not doing signature required at the buyers request.

I have never requested a signature either. Never had a problem with the tracking info being disputed. One person misplaced the package. After I talked to him on the phone and discribed the package he double checked and found his wife had put it in the garage behind the door and did not tell him about it. Rod

Another reason to transfer money out of the linked PayPal to Bank account...PP can't take it back, if it's not there.

That is just sorry, that is all there is to it. I have been lucky and the wife works for the P.O. so she makes sure signature required goes on everything.

Having been in Hollywood, I wouldn't be surprised if someone stole the package off his doorstep. But it sounds like he admitted the scam on the phone??

I've had several items lost due directly to the USPS. The postal services used to be the finest in the world but no more. If a customer of yours can't pay or play with the shipping you want to use then you don't need them as a customer. If you use USPS, you HAVE TO ask for signature upon delivery. This protects two ways. One against a dead beat customer and the other against the USPS.

Yes, and as the topic states a lesson learned for sure. The buyer did say through our last phone call "tough deal you cant do anything" and basically admitted to his lie. Such a shame. It's not about the money more so than the principal and learned anything of value needs a signature even if it's a deal breaker.

Do you have an email or similar where he askes for no signature delivery ?
If so send it to Paypal.
If he asked for it...his loss...

No this was all spoken over the phone. Seems as though I am on the losing end. This is not to bash PayPal, as PayPal is a great service.
