alternator for flathead
Can I put some newer model Ford 12V alt. in place of my old 6V gen. on my 36 FH? Thanks |

Yes. I believe you will need to switch from positive ground to negative. See the thread below regarding converting a '50 Merc. |

yes my preference is to use one from a 90 ish t bird with the plug in conectors there are two conectors you can buy the conectors separate or you can salvage them from a wreck in any case a convertion to 12 volt neg ground is a must for this set up. there is some wiring to do but don't fret i can explain wich wire goes where if you e mail me of the forum. good luck |
