Re: Spark Plugs? with High Comp Head A6050B
Hello Gray
I have a HC Head and use champion w18 and it is a nappa number 518 it is hotter but i can't say if there is a differance becouse i have my car in the middle of being repainted and can only drive around the block.I think there is other threads about this. That is where i got the part number for nappa. I am sure someone else will chime in on the performance of the hotter plug Kevin 1930 model a tudor 1923 model t roadster p/u |

You might reset the spark plug gap from .035 to .030 with the H.C. head.

Gary I run a Snyders 5.5 head with Champion 3X gapped to .030. Pay attention to your advance. You will find the sweet spot a lot sooner than you did before. You will really notice the difference in pulling hills and just overall performance.

Thanks will try some 3X @ .030. That for sure on the sweet spot noticed right away upon trying to start about 9 oclock position. Big difference.

Re: Spark Plugs? with High Comp Head A6050B
I run Champion W18 plugs with my 5.9 heads and run at speed with full advance. It all depends on how the car is driven. Most are driven on short trips with stop and go driving and will benefit from the hotter W18 spark plug. If driven long at steady high speed a colder W16-Y will work .When I used W16-Y at low speeds around town with a standard type replacement coil the plugs ran black and sooty. When I tried running Motorcraft TT10 plugs the plugs were black and sooty all the time, the vehicle didn't crank good and flooded easily. After cleaning once the TT 10 plugs were ready for the trash can. Some have different ideas about spark plugs. This is just my experience. I run all of mine with a gap of .035
